Drinking Beers Blind - Part III

It's LA Beer Week here in sunny Los Angeles. And what better way to kick it off than with another blog post showing just how little I actually know about this whole thing.
So why not spend a Friday night popping bottles and making guesses while rocking some Run the Jewels 2 (look it up)!

The beer this week seems to be of the 750ml size. And the initial opening got a huge hiss and the slightest of gushing.

I could smell the funk right out of the bottle like I was in a NYC nightclub at 4am.

It pours a huge fluffy white head that quickly dissipates. The crystal clear yellow color shows just how carbonated this one was...tiny tiny bubbles constantly flow up from the bottom.

There's a clean wheat aroma and a hint of fruit in there but I couldn't for the life of me tell what fruit it is. The tartness is growing with each sip and the second pour results in a much more pronounced fruit profile.

So I'm leaning towards fruited sour here. Hmmmmm, since this isn't my wheelhouse, I'm gonna just shoot for a big ol' whale from the Midwest and say Side Project Fuzzy!

Clearly I know nothing about beer.

Although sours aren't my expertise, I suppose I could argue that I came close. Perennial Artisan Ales, the brewers of Hopfentea are actually the parent company of Side Project who brew the beer I guessed, Fuzzy. But in reading descriptions of each beer, its clear that they are so vastly different, that I should be embarrassed for even making such a guess.

All in all though, this beer was only ok in my books. And it straight up wrecked my delicate stomach. Since I'm going to try to stick with rating beers here, I'll give this one a nice 6/10.

I drink beer and listen to records and pet dogs. Yep, that about sums me up.
